God's Goodness and Unfailing Love in Our Lives.

Updated: May 27

Psalm 23:6 NLT, “Surely GOD'S (God’s, the Good Shepherd ) goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”

The picture that this scripture creates in my mind is one of a hunt, a relentless pursuit of God‘s goodness and unfailing love towards us.

Through the years, as I have meditated on this passage, this image has brought comfort to me as I picture God‘s goodness and love ever pursuing and overtaking me. I have thought of all the good things He has blessed me with and done for me.

In His attentive care, I have felt peace flood my soul as I contemplate all the good I have and all the good I have to look forward to, even into eternity.

John 5:24

"Very, truly, I tell you, whoever hears my Word

(Jesus) and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to Life.

Everyday God pours out His blessings on us. His children dwell in His goodness and favor. He loves bestowing both tangible and intangible gifts on all of His creation. The blessings of healthy, delicious food, nice clothes to wear, a pleasant place to live, and even a good night’s sleep. And He brings lovely people into our lives that we can love and who love us in return. We are not alone on this earth but have opportunities to develop friendships that are precious and meaningful to us.

His goodness manifests in innumerable wonderful experiences and opportunities to enjoy this life.

Breathtaking landscapes dot our beloved world. And an endless cycle of splendid sunrises open each day and equally breathtaking sunsets appear at the days end. Our ceiling is an every changing glory of blues with clouds, sunshine, and sometimes even rainbows decorating its vast expanse. And even as we sleep, the night sky exhibits our beloved moon and whispers the gorgeous mysteries of the stars and planets in their endless dance. All the plants and living creatures that move about on the earth also come from the goodness of God’s heart (and especially the joy we get from our beloved pets).

God also pours out His goodness spiritually. He offers salvation and friendship to us, speaking to us with comforting thoughts, and filling our hearts with joy, peace, and love. He gives us dreams and ideas. And He fills our lives with purpose.

Perhaps this scripture could also be saying that the Lord is in a relentless pursuit of our hearts in such a way, that His goodness and lovingkindness are overtaking the very souls of those who belong to Him.

As we spend time with Him, His very essence is infusing our souls, His goodness and lovingkindness begin to change us. Over the years of walking close to our Shepherd, we begin to become good and loving, through and through.

In God’s goodness, He heals the damaged parts of our hearts that we bring to Him. And His desire is to heal us completely.

As He does this, He brings us out of the bondage of darkness and into freedom.

Mark 5:34 "DAUGHTER" YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU. GO IN PEACE AND BE FREE OF YOUR SUFFERING"

...BECAUSE OF YOUR FAITH! MAY GOD GIVE YOU PEACE!!! HEALED YOU .

GO IN PEACE AND BE FREED FROM YOUR SUFFERING ... FAITH HAS HEALED YOU.

And it is God’s relentless pursuit of our heart that is bringing about a soul full of goodness in His children, souls full of light and love.

God wants to transform us with His goodness and unfailing love for us. He will bring about this change as we allow Him to reveal His goodness to us and continue to behold Him.

We can yield to His work by meditating on His goodness and allowing Him to make adjustments in our thinking and perspectives. We can take comfort in His desire to lead us and to bring us into the rich pastures of His good thoughts and perceptions as we willingly follow Him.

In the blog area (Sylvia’s corner), she will be showing how she meditates on God’s Goodness which will include Prayers and Proclamation from the Promises of God.

As God’s children, we can rest in the truth that the Shepherd of our souls is involved in our lives and is seeking to transform us a little every day as we walk with Him.

Healthy growth takes time and deep contemplation of God’s multifaceted goodness; His being goodness Himself, in us, and in the world around us. So, little by little, let the Lord transform our hearts and make us into people full of His goodness.

PRAYERS FOR TODAY AMEN>>>

Today, I rest in Your goodness Lord. In that You are good and You are good to me. I also rest in the deep work You are doing as you develop Your goodness in me. Pursue my soul in your goodness, cause Your goodness to overtake me, saturate me, and change me, then pour Your goodness out through me into this world.
